A tragic fireworks accident in South Los Angeles resulted in the death of a 17-year-old boy on Wednesday night. The incident occurred just before 9:30 p.m. in the 400 block of West 84th Street.
Emergency responders rushed the teenager to a nearby hospital, but he was later pronounced dead. Authorities suspect the cause of the accident was a malfunctioning homemade firework.
Police are continuing their investigation, and further details have not yet been released.
