A 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a violent hit-and-run crash in San Bernardino that left a baby and a toddler with severe injuries. Police confirmed the arrest early Friday morning after days of searching for the suspect involved in the devastating collision.

The crash occurred just before 5:30 p.m. on Monday at the intersection of Arrowhead Avenue and 27th Street in San Bernardino. According to police, two women were walking with six children when a speeding driver struck a baby in a stroller and a 3-year-old child.
The impact forcefully threw the toddler to the ground, while the infant—still strapped in the stroller—was dragged more than 350 feet by the suspect’s vehicle.
Authorities said the driver briefly stopped when the stroller detached from the vehicle. Instead of helping, the suspect reportedly drove around the stroller and fled the scene at high speed.

Police identified Chester Lamont Gordon as the suspect. Officers located him around 4 a.m. Friday when he was seen backing the damaged vehicle out of his garage. Gordon was taken into custody without incident.
