A burglary investigation in South Los Angeles turned violent when police exchanged gunfire with an armed suspect inside a liquor store. The incident occurred around 1:10 a.m.<\/strong> near West Jefferson Boulevard and 9th Avenue<\/strong>, after officers responded to a possible burglary call.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Authorities identified the suspect as 33-year-old Malik Salaah<\/strong>, who allegedly concealed a firearm while officers attempted to detain him. According to police, Salaah pulled a gun from his waistband, sparking an officer-involved shooting<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Investigators reported that Salaah fired multiple rounds at officers both inside the liquor store and while exiting<\/strong>, before fleeing the scene on foot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Police pursued Salaah for about two blocks before taking him into custody.
