Former U.S. Attorney Found Dead in Alexandria
Jessica Aber, the former U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, was found dead Saturday morning in her Alexandria home. She was 43.

Her career in the U.S. Attorney’s Office began in 2009 as an assistant U.S. attorney, where she specialized in prosecuting financial fraud, public corruption, violent crime, and child exploitation cases. She earned her law degree from William and Mary Law School in 2006.

Current U.S. Attorney Erik Siebert expressed deep sorrow, calling Aber “a leader, mentor, and prosecutor without equal” and praising her professionalism and dedication.
