Chase Begins in Ventura County, Ends in Santa Monica
A high-speed police chase that started in Ventura County came to a dramatic end in Santa Monica after the suspect crashed into another vehicle and attempted to flee on foot.
The pursuit began in Simi Valley and continued through the San Fernando Valley before reaching the westside of Los Angeles. Around 5:45 p.m., the suspect was seen speeding along the 405 Freeway, evading law enforcement.
Crash Leads to Foot Chase at Santa Monica Pier
As the suspect entered Santa Monica, they rear-ended another vehicle on a busy surface street. Abandoning their van, they attempted to escape on foot but quickly surrendered to police near the Santa Monica Pier.
Law enforcement from Simi Valley led the pursuit, which involved multiple close calls, including a sideswipe collision with another vehicle and near-misses with pedestrians.
