Minivan Plows Into Crowd Near Santee Alley

A serious crash occurred in Downtown Los Angeles when a minivan drove into a group of pedestrians near the popular Santee Alley area in the Fashion District. The incident happened around 3:15 p.m. on East 12th Street, resulting in injuries to at least nine individuals, including children.

Multiple Adults and Minors Hospitalized

The Los Angeles Fire Department reported that nine victims were in “fair condition.” Among the injured were three minors—boys aged 8, 11, and 17—who were all transported to a hospital. Additionally, four women aged 23, 30, 54, and 65 were hospitalized. Two other 23-year-old women declined further medical treatment and were released against medical advice.

Crash Site Shows Significant Damage

Photos from the scene revealed a gray minivan with front-end damage parked beneath a collapsed patio structure, indicating the impact’s severity. The specific cause of the crash has not yet been determined.

Traffic Control and Ongoing Investigation

Los Angeles Department of Transportation officials responded quickly to manage traffic in the affected area. Authorities have not released any further details regarding what led to the crash, and an investigation is underway.
