Alleged Misconduct by Federal Agents at Salazar High School

Shocking surveillance footage has emerged allegedly showing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Border Patrol agents urinating on the grounds of a school in Pico Rivera, California. The El Rancho Unified School District (ERUSD) released the video, which they say captures multiple agents urinating in plain sight on the Salazar High School campus.

Details of the Incident

According to the school district, the incident occurred on the morning of June 17, between 8:54 a.m. and 9:04 a.m.. During that time, 10 vehicles—both marked and unmarked—entered the campus without prior notice or a warrant. Surveillance footage reportedly shows agents relieving themselves behind storage containers near the school’s playground, within visible range of Valencia Elementary School and a neighboring public park.

While Salazar High School was not in session, summer classes were taking place at the nearby elementary school, raising serious concerns about student exposure and safety.

ERUSD and Community Leaders Condemn the Behavior

ERUSD Board President John Contreras described the actions as “deeply disturbing” and criticized the agents for failing to exercise respectful judgment. “They risked exposing themselves to minors and potentially committing a public offense under California law,” he stated.

School district officials say the agents left the premises only after being asked to do so, further highlighting the lack of coordination with local authorities.

Same-Day Incident: Arrest of U.S. Citizen Sparks Further Concern

The same day, federal immigration agents were also captured on video forcefully arresting a 20-year-old man at a Pico Rivera shopping center. The man, Adrian Martinez, a U.S. citizen, is now facing a felony charge for allegedly interfering with agents as they detained a janitor. The dual incidents have intensified scrutiny over the federal presence and their conduct in the community.

DHS Responds, Investigation Underway

A spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed that the matter is currently under investigation.

Meanwhile, local leaders, including Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn, are demanding accountability. Hahn condemned the agents’ alleged actions as “a slap in the face to our communities—especially our children” and joined ERUSD in calling for a full federal investigation.

Call for Federal Accountability

With growing public outrage and video evidence raising serious legal and ethical questions, the focus is now on DHS and whether disciplinary or criminal action will be taken. Community members, school officials, and elected leaders are urging transparency, accountability, and a reevaluation of how federal agents operate near schools and populated neighborhoods.
