GRAND BLANC, Mich. — A deadly attack unfolded at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc, Michigan, on Monday morning when a suspect rammed a vehicle into the church’s front doors and opened fire. Authorities confirmed at least one person was killed and nine others were injured, with concerns that additional victims may still be inside the building. The incident occurred at approximately 10:25 a.m. local time, during an active church service. Eyewitnesses reported seeing flames erupt from the church, which is believed to have been intentionally set on fire. Video footage from the scene shows large flames and partial structural collapse. Grand Blanc police, along with Genesee County authorities, quickly evacuated the surrounding area. Sheriff Chris Swanson described the situation as a “dynamic scene” and stated that local and federal authorities are investigating the attack. Officials confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the public. The church is situated near residential areas and a Jehovah’s Witness congregation in Grand Blanc, a community of roughly 8,000 residents just outside Flint.
